Job summary

Slug And Lettuce Newcastle Upon Tyne is seeking a Kitchen Team Member to support busy kitchen operations and assist the Head Chef with orders, stock checks, and hygiene standards. A passion for hospitality and a willingness to learn are essential.

You will produce high‑quality dishes, oversee deliveries, and help the team reach company targets in a fast-paced, friendly pub environment. Permanent, full‑time role offering up to £13.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality preferred.
• Willingness to learn new skills daily.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to assist Head Chef with orders, stock checks and food hygiene.
• Experience maintaining kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation.
• Produce high-quality dishes to specification.
• Ensure kitchen cleanliness and hygienic conditions at all times.

• Ensure the kitchen is in an excellent, clean and hygienic condition at all times.
• Overseeing deliveries.
• Offer suggestions and creative ideas that can improve the kitchen’s performance.
• Work with the team to achieve company targets.
