Job summary

Premier Inn Preston East is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to run the kitchen day-to-day, manage rotas, place orders, lead the team through busy services and maintain audit readiness.

You'll work with the Hotel Manager to own food quality, hygiene, and costs, and you’ll develop your leadership to progress toward Head Chef.

This hands-on role offers real training, apprenticeships, and a clear career path within Whitbread’s UK network.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team or supervisory role
• Experience with ordering and cost control in a kitchen
• Knowledge of health and safety standards in a busy kitchen

Responsibilities

• Own food ordering, stock control and keeping food costs on track for the entire hotel
• Take the lead during service – organising the team, managing workflow, and ensuring everything runs smoothly
• Prepare, cook, and serve our menu to spec – from Premier Inn breakfasts to pub classics
• Ensure the kitchen meets health, safety and hygiene standards – keep the team trained and records up to date
• Step up when needed – running shifts and helping new team members settle in
• Learn the ins and outs of kitchen management to progress to more senior roles
