Job summary

Kew Green Hotels in the United Kingdom is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help keep the kitchen running smoothly and support the team in delivering excellent dining experiences for guests. You will assist with cleaning, storage and basic food preparation as needed to ensure service runs efficiently.

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you’ll have access to the Chef Development Programme and opportunities to progress toward a chef role if you wish.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the kitchen team in delivering a positive and memorable dining experience for guests.
• Ensuring crockery, cutlery, pots and pans are cleaned to the required standard.
• Supporting with basic food preparation during busy service periods.
• Supporting chefs by collecting ingredients, equipment or materials as needed.
• Receiving deliveries and ensuring all items are stored safely, correctly and in an organised way.
• Maintaining storage areas so that ingredients and materials are easy to access.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy and ready for service, including end-of-day cleaning.
• Removing waste promptly.
• Using cleaning materials and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Following all health, safety and food hygiene standards at all times.
