Job summary

Focus Birmingham is seeking an experienced Kitchen Supervisor to lead the daily delivery of its kitchen and catering services at the Day Centre for adults with complex needs.

You will oversee kitchen operations, allocate duties, manage rotas, monitor stock and ensure allergen and dietary requirements are safely met, including texture-modified meals where required. A hands-on leadership role, you will support and develop Catering Assistants and Volunteers while upholding HACCP and COSHH standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a catering/kitchen team in a care or day-centre setting.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day kitchen operations and allocate duties across the team.
• Manage rotas, staffing, and meal planning to meet residents' dietary needs.
• Oversee stock control, orders, deliveries and use of catering resources.
• Support audits, inspections, and continuous service improvements.
• Provide supervision, coaching and staff wellbeing support to Catering Assistants/Volunteers.
