Job summary

Hastings Hotels is seeking a reliable Kitchen Steward for our Everglades Hotel in Hastings. Typical shifts run 7am–3pm or 3pm–11pm, with later hours on weekends.

Hourly pay ranges from £9.55 to £12.75 depending on age, with staff meals, employee discounts, and career progression opportunities. Join our kitchen team under the guidance of our Head Chef and contribute to maintaining our high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas.

Qualifications

• Right to Work in the United Kingdom
• Good Command of English Language

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, loading and unloading the dishwasher, emptying and cleaning bins.
• Maintain the cleanliness of dishwashing areas including walls, fridges, and mopping floors.
• Ensure all equipment and materials are used correctly and report problems immediately.
• Maintain security of stock areas and report any breaches.
• Work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment with respect and dignity.
• Comply with health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
• Any other duties as required by management.

About the role

To ensure that all Kitchen areas and equipment are cleaned and presented to the Hastings Standard of Cleanliness and Hygiene.

• To keep all kitchen areas clean. Typical tasks include washing dishes, pots, pans, loading and unloading the dish washer, emptying, and cleaning bins.

• Maintaining the cleanliness of dishwashing areas including walls, fridges, and mopping floors.

• To ensure all equipment and materials are used in the correct manner and any problems are reported immediately.

• To always maintain the security of stock areas at all times, immediately reporting any breaches and dealing.

• To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.

• To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.

• Any other duties as required by management.

About You

We would love you to have some similar previous experience, but this is not essential as our Kitchen Team will provide you with full training.
