Job summary

Hastings Hotels is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person to join our kitchen team in Northern Ireland. Under the leadership of our Head Chef, you will help maintain cleanliness, assist with dishwashing, and support the team across service periods.

Typical shifts run 7am–3pm and 3pm–11pm, with some weekend hours. We offer free staff meals, employee discounts, and clear opportunities for progression within our luxury hotel group.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen environments is helpful but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas and equipment.
• Wash dishes, pots and pans; load/unload dishwasher; clean bins.
• Ensure stock areas are secure and report issues promptly.
• Work with colleagues to maintain a respectful, safe working environment.
• Adhere to health, safety and hygiene policies.

The rate of pay ranges from £9.00 - £12.75ph depending on age.

About The Role

To ensure that all Kitchen areas and equipment are cleaned and presented to the Hastings Standard of Cleanliness and Hygiene.

• To keep all kitchen areas clean. Typical tasks include washing dishes, pots, pans, loading and unloading the dish washer, emptying, and cleaning bins.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of dishwashing areas including walls, fridges, and mopping floors.
• To ensure all equipment and materials are used in the correct manner and any problems are reported immediately.
• To always maintain the security of stock areas at all times, immediately reporting any breaches and dealing.
• To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
• To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
• Any other duties as required by management.

About You

We would love you to have some similar previous experience, but this is not essential as our Kitchen Team will provide you with full training.
