Job Overview:
As a Kitchen Porter, you will be an essential part of the kitchen team, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your role will involve maintaining cleanliness, supporting the kitchen staff, and helping to create a safe and organised workspace. With flexible working hours, this position is ideal for those seeking a role that fits around their other commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the kitchen is clean, well-organised, and properly sanitised at all times.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using both manual and machine methods.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients and support the kitchen team as needed.
  • Ensure that all kitchen areas are kept tidy and free of hazards.
  • Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with venue policies.
  • Handle deliveries, unpacking, and storing ingredients and supplies.
  • Work with the kitchen team to maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
  • Assist with basic food preparation when required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a kitchen porter or in a similar role is advantageous but not required – full training will be provided.
  • A strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
