Holiday Inn Basildon is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team and help keep the operation running smoothly, safely and efficiently. You will support chefs with preparation, keep areas clean, handle deliveries, and uphold food safety and hygiene standards to help deliver a positive dining experience.

Qualifications

• Reliable and hardworking individual to join a fast-paced kitchen
• Comfortable performing washing, cleaning and basic prep tasks
• Able to work well in a team and follow safety guidelines
• Willingness to learn and support the kitchen team

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and organised throughout the shift
• Sweep and mop floors and manage waste and recycling responsibly
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables
• Receive, check and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies correctly
• Support kitchen set‑up and close‑down procedures
• Clean cooking equipment and work surfaces to hygiene standards
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service
• Report any maintenance, hygiene or health & safety concerns promptly
