Job summary

Holiday Inn Basildon is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team and help maintain a calm, efficient environment behind the scenes. You will support chefs with preparation, setup, and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene for a smooth service.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean dishes, pots, pans and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, tidy and organised throughout the shift
• Sweep and mop floors and manage waste and recycling responsibly
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling and chopping vegetables
• Receive, check and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies correctly
• Support kitchen set up and close down procedures
• Clean cooking equipment and work surfaces to hygiene standards
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety guidelines at all times
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to support smooth service
• Report any maintenance, hygiene or health & safety concerns promptly
