Job summary

Eastlands Venue Services Limited at Etihad Campus in Manchester is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. This casual role supports chefs by keeping all areas clean, ensuring correct cleaning dosages, and maintaining COSHH compliance so the kitchen runs safely and efficiently.

You will carry out routine washing and waste disposal, help store chemicals separately from food, and assist in keeping back-of-house areas clear.

Responsibilities

• Carry out effective cleaning duties as instructed by the Head Kitchen Porter / BOH Manager
• Ensure correct dosages are followed in cleaning procedures
• Meet COSHH regulations
• Proper disposal of kitchen waste following hygiene and safety standards
• Empty bins regularly to prevent overflow and maintain a clean workspace
• Store chemicals separately from food and in COSHH storeroom
• Keep back-of-house areas free of blockages and excess packaging
• Contribute to staff relationships, morale and welfare

Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the kitchen, ensuring that chefs and kitchen staff have the support they need to deliver high-quality food in a safe, hygienic environment.

Day to Day Key Responsibilities

• To carry out all effective cleaning duties as instructed by the Head Kitchen Porter / BOH Manager.
• To ensure that all correct dosages are followed in all cleaning procedures.
• That all COSHH regulations are met.
• Ensure proper disposal of kitchen waste, adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
• Empty bins regularly to prevent overflow and maintain a clean workspace
• To ensure that all chemicals are stored and kept apart from all food production and kept in COSHH storeroom.
• To assist in making sure that the back of house areas is free of any blockages of goods or excess packaging and removed accordingly.
• To contribute to the building of staff relationships, morale and to take an active part in other colleagues welfare, safety and development.
