Job summary

Berkeley Scott Recruitment is actively recruiting experienced Kitchen Porters for roles across Middlesbrough and surrounding areas. The work spans schools, care homes, events and contract catering with flexible, ongoing shifts and weekly pay.

Ideal candidates have prior Kitchen Porter or Catering Assistant experience, and may hold Food Safety/Allergen qualifications. DBS checks for school roles may be required, with opportunities across daytime and evening slots.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Chefs and kitchen teams with daily tasks.
• Washing up and ensuring all equipment is clean.

• Assisting with deliveries, stock rotation and storing supplies.
• Supporting with basic food preparation and general duties.
• Setting up and clearing down kitchen and service areas.

As a Kitchen Porter, Your Duties May Include

• Supporting Chefs, Catering Managers and kitchen teams
• Washing up and ensuring all kitchen equipment and utensils are clean
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and catering areas
• Assisting with deliveries, stock rotation and storing food and supplies
• Supporting with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties
• Setting up and clearing down kitchen and service areas

What We Are Looking For

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant or Catering Assistant
• Experience within schools, care homes, events or contract catering is advantageous
• Food Safety and Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete
• Enhanced DBS with child barring, or willingness to obtain, for school-based roles
• Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills
• A reliable, professional and hardworking approach to work
