Job summary

Berkeley Scott Recruitment in Sheffield is seeking experienced Kitchen Porters to join a flexible, ongoing assignment across schools, care homes, events and contract catering sites. You will support chefs, wash up, and help maintain cleanliness in busy kitchen environments with daytime, evening and term-time opportunities.

Weekly pay and a friendly agency team accompany the role, with pay rate depending on experience and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience as Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant or Catering Assistant.
• Experience in schools, care homes, events or contract catering is advantageous.
• Food Safety and Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete.
• Enhanced DBS with child barring, or willingness to obtain, for school-based roles.
• Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
• A reliable, professional and hardworking approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Support Chefs and kitchen teams in daily operations.
• Washing up and ensuring kitchen equipment and utensils are clean.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout kitchen and catering areas.
• Assist with deliveries, stock rotation and storing food and supplies.
• Assist with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties.
• Set up and clear down kitchen and service areas.

As a Kitchen Porter, Your Duties May Include
