Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd in Sindlesham invites applications for a Kitchen Porter to join our friendly team. You’ll help keep the kitchen hygienic, safe and to high cleanliness standards, support chefs with prep, and operate the industrial dishwasher.

This is a full-time, permanent role at a Berkshire location. The contract covers term-time for the main school and 52 weeks for the nursery, with 40 hours per week and free onsite parking.

Qualifications

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred but not essential.
• Can-do attitude and good organisation skills.
• Reasonable spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high kitchen cleanliness and hygiene at all times.
• Assist chefs with food preparation tasks as needed.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and operate the dishwasher.
• Ensure safe and orderly kitchen operations.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £13.13ph

Hours: 40 per week

A co-educational, independent day & Boarding school in Wokingham, Berkshire. The school provides education for boys and girls aged between 3 months and 18 years. Feeding about 1000 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch & supper with a fair amount of hospitality throughout the year. This is a term time contract for the main school & 52 week for the nursery and operates 7 days a week. Working patterns are mixed across 7 days. Additional benefit to this location is free parking onsite.

Kitchen Porter

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Sindlesham.

You’ll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

Key Skills

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Excellent customer service skills
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
• Operate industrial dishwasher

We Are Looking For

• Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
• Can do attitude.
• Organisation Skills.

Knowledge / Competencies

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
