Job summary

Butcombe Group is seeking a Kitchen Porter for its Butcombe Boutique Inns in Ringwood. You will support the kitchen team by keeping areas clean, assisting with dish washing, and helping maintain service flow in a busy environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality or kitchen support is helpful.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends as required.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen area.
  • Wash pots, pans, crockery and equipment during service.
  • Keep back-of-house areas tidy and well-stocked.
  • Assist with basic food preparation when needed to support the team.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling per hygiene standards.
  • Assist with deliveries and stock rotation.

We’re looking for a Kitchen Porter who is hardworking, dependable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be an essential part of the kitchen team, ensuring cleanliness, supporting chefs, and helping to keep service running efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly by maintaining a clean, organised, and safe environment
  • Ensuring all pots, pans, crockery, and equipment are washed, cleaned, and ready for use during busy service
  • Keeping kitchen and back-of-house areas clean and tidy throughout the shift, including pot wash and deep cleaning tasks
  • Supporting basic food preparation when required, helping the chefs keep service moving efficiently
  • Managing waste disposal, recycling, and ensuring all areas meet hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Assisting with deliveries, stock rotation, and storing goods safely and correctly
  • Following all food hygiene, health & safety, and company procedures at all times
  • Working as part of a fast-paced kitchen team, bringing energy, reliability, and a positive “can do” attitude
