Job summary

Butcombe Group is looking for a Trainee Chef to join its kitchens across its pubs and inns in the UK. You’ll be at the heart of a bustling kitchen, learning fast and building the foundations of a rewarding culinary career.

You'll work with experienced chefs, follow standards and menus, and develop practical skills while enjoying the supportive culture and development opportunities across the business.

Qualifications

• Passion for cooking and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Interest in pursuing a career in hospitality.
• Willingness to follow kitchen procedures and health/safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the kitchen team in the preparation and delivery of high-quality, freshly cooked food
• Learning how to cook and present dishes in line with company standards and menu specifications
• Assisting with basic food preparation, including chopping, portioning, and organising ingredients
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety across all kitchen areas
• Supporting stock rotation, deliveries, and ensuring ingredients are stored correctly
• Working closely with experienced chefs to develop your skills and confidence in a professional kitchen
• Following all health & safety, food safety, and kitchen procedures at all times
• Bringing a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong team spirit to every shift

What You'll Be Doing
