Job summary

Esplanade Hotel is seeking a kitchen assistant to help run the kitchen production areas and support the team in daily tasks. You will wash dishes, assist with basic food preparation, and keep pots, pans and utensils clean.

The role requires maintaining hygiene standards, working under pressure, and coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations. On-site role with a focus on reliability and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Maintaining HACCP compliance in kitchen areas.
• Assisting in washing dishes and basic food preparation as needed.
• Maintaining clean and organized kitchen workspaces.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with smooth running of kitchen production areas.
• Washing dishes manually and in dishwasher.
• Assisting in basic food preparation if needed.
• Cleaning pots, pans and kitchen utensils.
• Maintaining kitchen areas per HACCP regulations.
• Storing crockery, cutlery and glassware.
• Sweeping and mopping kitchen floor.
• Reporting faulty equipment to manager/chef.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas.
• Washing dishes manually and also by using the dishwasher.
• Assisting in basic food preparation if needed
• Cleaning pots, pans and any other kitchen utensils.
• Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
• Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware.
• Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor.
• Emptying bins when they are full.
• Reporting any fault equipment to the kitchen manager or chef and then arranging for their repair.
• Keeping breakages down to a minimum.
• Complying with the daily cleaning rotas.
• Taking all dirty linen and cloths from the kitchen to the hotel laundry.
• Assisting in other areas of the hotel when required to.
• To ensure good working relationship with all other departments and communicate information throughout the hotel.
• To understand responsibilities in relation to Fire Procedures, Health and Safety, COSHH, Infection Control and Emergency Aid.
• All other duties as required
