Berkeley Scott is recruiting Kitchen Porters and Kitchen Assistants to join a dedicated on-site kitchen team in Newcastle. Immediate start and ongoing, regular shifts with flexibility and weekly pay.

• Keep kitchen areas clean, organised and hygienic.
• Assist with kitchen close-down procedures.
• Follow instructions from the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
• Comply with all food hygiene and health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods
• Assisting with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties
• Operating dishwashers and cleaning kitchen equipment
• Washing up and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Keeping kitchen areas clean, organised and hygienic
• Assisting with kitchen close-down procedures
• Following instructions from the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager
• Complying with all food hygiene and health and safety procedures

About You

We are looking for candidates who are:

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Well organised with good communication skills
• Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Experienced in a kitchen or catering environment

Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Kitchen Assistant, Catering Assistant or Chef Assistant is highly desirable.

An Enhanced DBS certificate is desirable but not essential. A Food Safety Certificate is also beneficial, although training may be available for the right candidate.
