Job summary

Wilson Vale is recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our mobile catering unit in Manchester (M27 5SZ). The role is on a temporary 5 month contract, with start on 5th October 2026. You will work 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, supporting a fast-paced catering team on site.

You’ll keep the kitchen and dining areas clean, help with dishwashing and clearing, and assist with serving when required. Some heavy lifting is involved and you’ll need to be reliable and proactive.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our team onour mobile catering unitin Manchester M27 5SZ.

Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools, and at conference venueswith the same high-end ethos throughout.

We’re looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our busy catering team at a TV filming site on a temporary 5 month contract. You’ll be working in a fast paced environment serving crew and cast, with an eclectic range of international dishes prepared from fresh ingredients.

You’ll be responsible for keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and organised, including clearing tables, washing dishes and kitchen equipment. You may also support with serving when required. We’re looking for someone who can work well on their own initiative, is reliable and happy to get stuck in. Some heavy lifting will be required.

You’ll work Monday to Friday, 7am until 3:30pm. The proposed start date for this role is 5th October 2026.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have excellent customer service and social skills
• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
• Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team
• Be customer focused
• Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
