Job summary

Outcomes First Group's Manor House School in Horsham is seeking a Kitchen Porter to help keep the kitchen clean, organized and running smoothly. You will support the wider kitchen team, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in kitchen or hospitality is desirable but not essential.
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy kitchen as part of a team.
  • Good attention to cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the kitchen and back-of-house areas clean, tidy and organised to the highest standards.
  • Wash dishes, cookware, utensils and equipment efficiently to keep service running smoothly.
  • Maintain a clean and organised washing-up and storage area throughout the day.
  • Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation when needed.
  • Clean and sanitise equipment, surfaces and work areas safely and thoroughly.
  • Empty bins and manage waste in line with food hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Assist with deliveries, moving stock and keeping storage areas well organised.
  • Be a reliable helping hand to chefs and colleagues during busy service periods.
  • Follow all food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Take part in relevant training to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Complete end-of-shift cleaning to leave the kitchen fresh, safe and ready for the next service.
