Job summary

Budock Vean Hotel, Cornwall’s hidden gem on Helford River, invites a kitchen porter to support our kitchen teams in daily operations. You will wash dishes, assist in basic food prep, and help maintain clean, safe work areas in a picturesque 65-acre setting.

We value reliability and good timekeeping, with opportunities to work across hotel departments and contribute to a collaborative hospitality team.

Role & Responsibilities

• Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas.
• Washing dishes manually and also by using the dishwasher.
• Assisting in basic food preparation if needed
• Cleaning pots, pans and any other kitchen utensils.
• Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations.
• Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware.
• Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor.
• Emptying bins when they are full.
• Reporting any fault equipment to the kitchen manager or chef and then arranging for their repair.
• Keeping breakages down to a minimum.
• Complying with the daily cleaning rotas.
• Taking all dirty linen and cloths from the kitchen to the hotel laundry.Assisting in other areas of the hotel when required to.
• To ensure good working relationship with all other departments and communicate information throughout the hotel.
• To understand responsibilities in relation to Fire Procedures, Health and Safety, COSHH, Infection Control and Emergency Aid.
• All other duties as required
