Job summary

The Ivy Collection in Cobham is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to support the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation tasks, and helping ensure efficient kitchen operations.

No prior experience is required, but the role rewards hard work with competitive pay, a 20 hours minimum contract, a 50% staff dining discount, and a clear path through our Management Career Development Program.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required (kitchen experience preferred).
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Good level of Health & Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies in designated areas.
• Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks.
• Ensure chemicals and cleaning equipment are stocked.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our kitchen team as a Kitchen Porter. The Kitchen Porter will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, assisting with basic food preparation tasks, and supporting the overall efficiency of kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and storing supplies in designated areas.
• Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste in designated waste areas.Support kitchen staff by performing basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients.
• Ensure chemicals and cleaning equipment are continuously stocked, i.e. blue roll & sanitizer.

Requirements:

• No previous experience is required, although experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
• Good level of Health & Safety knowledge.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
