Job summary

Searcys is seeking a Kitchen Porter to help ensure the smooth running of the kitchen at The British Academy in London. This is a zero hours contract with a £14.80 per hour rate, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package, including a 50% venue discount, a pension scheme, generous annual leave, meal provisions on shift and special days off.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or cleaning experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all kitchen and service areas are cleaned to the highest standards.
• Carry out thorough cleaning of crockery, equipment and spaces daily/weekly.
• Be flexible to work across all parts of the building.
• Actively involved with food preparation and service.
• Manage waste and record data as required.
• Maintain catering storage areas, ensuring organization and cleanliness.
• Assist with stock, deliveries, counting and storage.

Job Description

Salary: £14.80 per hour

Hours: 0 hours contract

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure all areas of the kitchen and service areas are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure the thorough cleaning of crockery, kitchen equipment and spaces on a daily and weekly basis.
• To be flexible to work across all parts of the building.
• To be actively involved with food preparation and service.
• Waste management, recording data as required.
• Maintain all catering storage areas, ensuring they are always organised and clean.
• To assist with stock, including accepting deliveries, counting and storing them correctly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is desirable but not essential.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.

Ability to work as part of a team.
