Job summary

The Bedford Hotel Belfast, a boutique hotel housed in the Scottish Mutual Building, is seeking a Kitchen Porter to help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness across the kitchen, reporting to the Head Chef.

You will support the kitchen team, manage pot-wash duties, assist with stock checks and deliveries, follow COSHH and PPE rules, and contribute to health, safety and food hygiene in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy it.
• Able to work independently, being self-motivated to complete tasks.
• Flexible to work different shift patterns including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in all kitchen areas by following established procedures each day set by the Head Chef.
• Support the Kitchen Team with tasks as required.
• Work sections to ensure efficient pot-wash standards and utmost cleanliness of kitchen, utensils, cookware and crockery.
• Assist Head Chef with stock taking and storage, including checking deliveries.
• Ensure a high level of Health & Safety, cleanliness and food hygiene, following safe working practices.
• Be aware of COSHH regulations and use of PPE.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

Role Responsibilities

AsaKitchenPorter,you’llmaintainthe highest standards of cleanliness in all kitchen areas by followingestablished procedureseach day set by the Head Chef.

• You’llhave a positive mentality and can-do attitude supporting the rest of the Kitchen Team with any tasks asrequired.
• To work the sections, ensuring that pot-wash standards are dealt with efficiently, always ensuring utmost cleanliness.
• Display efficient working practices and ensure all the kitchen, utensils, cookware, and crockeryareproperly cleanedin a timely manner.
• Support the Head Chef with stock taking and storage of stock, including checking deliveries.
• Toassistin ensuringa high levelof Health & Safety,cleanlinessand food hygiene and to ensure that safe working practices are followed.
