The Pump Room in Bath is looking for a Kitchen Porter to join the team and support the day to day running of the Pump Room and evening events. • Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in line with chef direction.
• Keep kitchen and restaurant areas clean and tidy at all times.
• Provide friendly, efficient and hygienic service to customers.
• Be flexible to work in all kitchens, serveries, staff canteens and external reception spaces.
• Maintain all catering storage areas, ensuring they are organized and clean.
• Receive, inspect, and store goods and/or equipment as required.
• Assist with some food preparation and service when needed.
• Report incidents or accidents and take appropriate action.
• Report broken equipment to the Executive/Head Chef.

Job Description

Hourly Rate: £12.71

You will work closely with the team, ensuring to create a nurturing and positive environment for the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of food in line with chef direction
• Keeping the kitchen and restaurant areas in a clean and tidy state at all times.
• Provide a friendly, efficient and hygienic service to all customers.
• To be flexible to work in all kitchens, serveries, staff canteens and external reception spaces
• To ensure all areas of the kitchens and service areas on all floors are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness, providing a clean and safe working area.
• To be flexible to work in all areas of the kitchen.
• To maintain all catering storage areas, ensuring they are always organised and clean.
• To receive, count, inspect and store goods and/or equipment and dispensing or disposing them to/from departments as and when required.
• To be involved with some food preparation and service when required.
• Report immediately any incidents or accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate
• Report any broken equipment to the Executive chef/ Head chef

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is desirable but not essential.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.

Ability to work as part of a team.
