Job summary

Sodexo in Aylesbury is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join a busy catering team. You’ll help keep the kitchen clean, organised and running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.

No previous kitchen experience is required, as full training will be provided. You’ll work with colleagues to support chefs, wash dishes, handle waste, and maintain high hygiene standards in a role with opportunities to grow within Sodexo.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong focus on cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
• Reliable and willing to support the wider kitchen team as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, utensils and equipment.
• Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic preparation and general kitchen duties.
• Ensure dishes, pots and equipment are washed and returned to their proper places.
• Dispose of waste safely and in accordance with site procedures.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages or needs.

What you’ll do:

• Ensure dishes, pots and equipment are washed efficiently and returned to the appropriate areas.
• Dispose of waste safely and correctly, following site procedures.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report any shortages or requirements to the appropriate person.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations at all times.

What you'llbring:

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness and hygiene.
• Reliable and willing to support the wider kitchen team when needed.
• Previous kitchen or catering experience is desirable but not essential.
• Full training will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
