Sodexo Group at Nuffield Health Guildford Hospital in Guildford is looking for a Kitchen Porter to help keep the kitchen, pot wash and service areas clean and running smoothly.

The role offers a permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week, shifts 7 am - 3 pm or 12 pm - 8 pm, and a salary of £12.81 per hour plus Sodexo benefits. No prior experience required; a positive, reliable attitude and team spirit are welcomed.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; positive, reliable and hardworking approach.
• Good teamwork and communication skills with a professional and respectful approach.
• Understanding of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety in a hospital environment.
• Strong health & safety awareness, including manual handling.
• Ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules and COSHH requirements.
• Good organisation skills in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen, pot wash and pan wash areas clean, safe and organised.
• Wash and clean plates, trays, crockery, pans and kitchen equipment to support service.
• Keep restaurant tables, coffee stations and service areas clean and well stocked.
• Empty and replace bin bags; dispose of waste correctly.
• Maintain supply of cutlery, trays, cups and plates for the catering team.
• Receive, check and store catering deliveries per procedures.
• Complete cleaning schedules and tasks as directed by line manager.

What you’ll do:

• Keep the kitchen, pot wash and pan wash areas clean, safe and organised throughout the day.

• Complete cleaning schedules and other reasonable tasks requested by your line manager, while following site policies and health and safety requirements.

• Good teamwork and communication skills, with a professional and respectful approach to colleagues and hospital staff.


• An understanding of the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety in a hospital environment.


• Good awareness of health and safety, including safe working practices and manual handling.


• The ability to follow instructions, cleaning schedules, site procedures and COSHH requirements.


• Good organisation skills and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
