Job summary

Willow Gardens Extra Care Scheme in the United Kingdom hosts a Kitchen Domestic role, supporting a safe, high-quality meal service for older people and adults with disabilities.

You will help maintain a clean kitchen, assist with heating and serving meals, and ensure food safety standards are followed at all times.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience preparing meals on a large scale from a planned menu.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking to recruit a committed and reliable Kitchen Domestic to join our team at Willow Gardens Extra Care Scheme.

Working within our Extra Care Service, you will support the delivery of a safe, efficient and high-quality meal service for older people and adults with disabilities.

You will play an important role in maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, supporting the preparation and serving of meals, and ensuring food safety regulations are adhered to at all times.

In the absence of the Kitchen Assistant, you will be required to heat and serve meals, supervise the kitchen area and ensure all food handling practices meet the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

Support the delivery of a meal service that promotes independence and wellbeing for people who use our services. Maintain high standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and dining areas. Assist with the heating, preparation and serving of meals. Support stock control, stock rotation and the ordering of supplies. Complete relevant food safety and service documentation. We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or is willing to obtain one.
• Has experience working within a catering or kitchen environment.
• Has experience preparing meals on a large scale from a planned menu.
• Can work effectively as part of a team.
• Has good written and verbal communication skills.
• Understands food hygiene standards and health and safety requirements within a commercial kitchen. Is able to maintain confidentiality and accurate records.
• Can demonstrate compassion, dignity and respect when working with older people and adults with disabilities. Is flexible and able to work shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
