Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Llanidloes is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Canteen Manager and deliver a high-quality service to staff on site. The role focuses on food preparation, service and maintaining hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will work Monday to Friday, 06:00am - 14:30pm, assist with stock, menus and events, and ensure safety and compliance with COSHH/HACCP guidelines while providing friendly customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience is essential.
• Good verbal, written and numerical skills are required.
• Well organised and a team player with customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Deputise for the Manager in their absence.
• Ordering of stock including raising/receipting PO’s on SAP (covering Manager holidays/absence).
• Continuously review menus.
• Preparing and cooking of food.
• Assist onsite events such as summer BBQ and staff Christmas dinner.
• Participate in on site engagement activities i.e. Free Breakfast Friday’s / charity fundraising.
• Assist stock taking and product rotation.
• Serving of food and beverages.
• Collect monies and operate cash till.
• Cleaning of kitchen equipment, worktops, tables and floors.
• Report faults to Line Manager so they can be put right quickly to avoid downtime and potential loss of stock.
• Prepare Buffets / refreshments for on-site meetings.
• Comply with company health and safety standards at all times and ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Comply with food hygiene standards at all times.
• Comply with all COSHH and HACCP guidelines.

We are currently looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Llanidloes to Assist the Canteen Manager to undertake all tasks within the canteen to ensure a high-quality service to all staff across the site.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 06:00am - 14:30pm
