Job summary

Ynysfach Primary School in Resolven, Neath is seeking a Lunchtime Assistant to help run the lunchtime service and keep the kitchen clean and safe.

The role covers 7.5 hours per week during term time, at £12.85 per hour. Training in basic food hygiene is provided, and an Enhanced DBS is required. Applications welcome in Welsh or English.

• No formal qualifications required; basic food hygiene training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the smooth running of the lunchtime service and maintain hygienic kitchen conditions.
• Undertake kitchen duties: washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables, cleaning of kitchen and surroundings.
• Assist in the preparation of high-quality meals for pupils and work to agreed schedules; comply with food hygiene and safety regulations.

7.5 hours per week Monday – Friday – 1130 to 1300 Term Time Only School: Ynysfach Primary School, Resolven, Neath SA11 4AB

You will be expected to assist in the smooth running of the lunchtime service and maintain hygienic conditions in the kitchen and undertake associated kitchen duties such as:

• Washing up
• Setting up and clearing away equipment and tables
• Cleaning of kitchen, its surrounds and equipment.
• Assisting in the preparation of high quality and varied meals for young people.

You will work as part of a team and be able to work in accordance with agreed schedules, comply with food and health and safety regulations and work to a high standard.

No formal qualifications are required for this post; however you will be required to undertake basic food hygiene training and attend training courses relevant to this position.
