Job summary

Moat House Care Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team in delivering nutritious, varied meals for residents. You will assist with food preparation, meal service and baking, while ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Working on a bank (zero-hours) contract, you will receive training and opportunities for career progression within a supportive care environment.

Qualifications

• Previous catering or kitchen experience is essential; care home experience desirable.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of food preparation, stock control and stock rotation.
• Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
• A genuine commitment to delivering an excellent dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, meal service and baking, and washing up.
• Receive and store deliveries; maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety; report maintenance issues.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and infection prevention procedures.
