Job summary

Anchor Point Neurological Centre in Nursling/Southampton area seeks a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team in preparing and delivering nutritious meals. You will assist with chopping, mixing, portioning, and assembling ingredients, while ensuring food safety and adapting meals for specific dietary needs.

Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will help meet textures and dietary requirements, maintain hygiene standards, and contribute to a caring, supportive environment for adults

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and health and safety requirements.
• Flexible, proactive and willing to learn.
• Able to work under pressure and use initiative.
• Compassionate and respectful approach; good teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and meal assembly for daily service.
• Support kitchen team with cooking and meal delivery according to menus.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safe working practices.
• Monitor stock, storage conditions and temperature checks.
• Support dietary needs including texture-modified or specialist diets.
• Maintain compassionate, patient-centered approach around individuals.
