Job summary

Inspire Neurocare Limited is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team and help deliver nutritious, well-prepared meals for residents with complex needs. You will work closely with chefs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure dietary requirements are met and hygiene standards are maintained.

The role is initially part-time with 2 days one week and 4 the next, offering enhanced overtime opportunities and a supportive environment focused on resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working within a catering environment either as a Kitchen Assistant or a Chef.
• Experience of working in a healthcare or care-based setting.
• Familiar with preparing meals for individuals with special dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Support and assist the chefs with day-to-day food preparation, including chopping, mixing, portioning and assembling ingredients.
• Support with basic cooking tasks under the chef’s supervision, helping to deliver high-quality meals that meet dietary requirements.
• Ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and safe methods of work are used.
• Manage stocks and stores, ensuring items are correctly marked and rotation systems are in place.
• Maintain accurate records such as fridge temperature checks to satisfy hygiene requirements.
• Show sensitivity when interacting with residents who may have cognitive, physical, or communication challenges.
