Job summary

Sight Scotland Veterans at the Hawkhead Centre is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our Centre Services Manager and Chef in preparing nutritious meals and maintaining a safe, clean kitchen environment.

You will assist with food preparation, meal service and washing up, while ensuring Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards are followed. A friendly, supportive team welcomes you to help veterans with sight loss enjoy varied meals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of high-quality food as directed by the chef.
• Assist with meal service.
• Assist with clearing and washing up.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment per schedules set by the Centre manager/Senior.
• Ensure Food Hygiene and Health & Safety recommendations are complied with.
• Advise the Chef/Senior/Deputy Centre manager of any equipment or fittings malfunction or maintenance needs.
