Job summary

Monarch Healthcare Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for Clifton Manor Nursing Home in Nottingham. You will support the catering team to ensure smooth mealtimes and a welcoming dining environment for residents.

The role requires a caring and friendly approach with good communication, and experience in a kitchen or food preparation is beneficial. A Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable and DBS checks are standard.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our dedicated catering team at Clifton Manor Nursing Home. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of our residents, by ensuring mealtimes run smoothly. You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive environment at Clifton Manor, where teamwork and kindness are at the heart of everything we do.

• Rate of Pay: £12.80
• Hours and shift times: 30 or 40 hours per week, shift times can start from 7am
• Schedule: We work on a rota basis including alternate weekends and some bank holidays.
• Location: Clifton, Nottingham, NG11 (Please consider travel times, including on weekends, before applying)

Key Responsibilities:

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work alongside our Cooks to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment and assist in the preparation and serving of meals. Your duties will include:

• Maintaining a hygienic kitchen and dining area
• Keeping accurate records of food supplies, temperatures and schedules
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety at all times
• Following statutory Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment
• Reporting any faults or issues promptly

We are looking for someone who is caring, friendly, and has good communication skills. Experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is beneficial, as is a valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
