Job summary

Renaissance Care seeks a passionate Kitchen Assistant to join the Beech Manor Care Home catering team on Bank Shifts. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, supporting the kitchen team to deliver a warm, resident-centered dining experience.

You will set up and clear dining areas, maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene, and work to meet residents’ dietary needs in a caring, hospitality-like environment.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.
• Experience in a similar environment preferred.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate required; COSHH and HACCP knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and serving of nutritious meals.
• Set up and clear dining areas; maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining spaces.
• Ensure food safety hygiene protocols are followed and equipment is clean.
• Engage with residents to support a hospitality-focused dining experience.

We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistant (or someone with a background in hospitality) to join our team in Beech Manor Care Home for Bank Shifts.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you are an essential member of our catering team, playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen and enhancing the dining experience for our residents. You will assist in the preparation, and serving of nutritious and healthy meals, working closely with the kitchen team to cater to the preferences and dietary needs of our residents, including those with special dietary requirements.

Your responsibilities will include setting up and clearing dining areas, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in all kitchen, serving, and dining areas. You'll help keep the kitchen and equipment clean and ensure all safety and hygiene protocols are strictly followed. Additionally, you will engage with residents to build meaningful connections, supporting a hospitality-style approach to catering and helping to develop seasonal menus that promote choice and independence as core elements of their dining experience.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team. You will have a good eye for detail and ideally, you will have experience in a similar environment and hold a Basic Food Hygiene certificate. You will have knowledge of the correct use of kitchen equipment as well as COSHH and HACCP regulations.
