Job summary

St. Mary’s College is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for the on-site role in Sefton. The position is 17.5 hours per week, usually 1.00pm–4.30pm, term-time with inset and cleaning days, and some evenings may be required. Main duties include cleaning the kitchen, serving food and drinks, washing dishes, and light food prep as needed.

The successful candidate will work with catering staff and must undergo a DBS check as part of safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or catering environment preferred.
• DBS check required for safeguarding.
• Ability to work term-time with some flexibility.

• Serve food and drinks to students and staff.
• Wash dishes and pots.
• Clean kitchen areas after catering staff have left for the day.

Job description

We seek to appoint a Kitchen Assistant based at St. Mary’s College.

The role is 17.5 hours per week, usually between the hours of 1.00pm – 4.30pm. Term time including inset and cleaning days, some flexibility will be required, including occasional evening work.

The main duties are cleaning the kitchen and serving food and drinks. On a daily basis the role will be washing dishes and pots and cleaning all areas of the kitchen once the majority of the catering staff have left for the day. The role may occasionally involve the preparation of sandwiches, salads and snack foods.
