Job summary

The Lindsay Care Home by Bupa in Poole is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support a 30-hour weekly schedule, working 8am–7pm with alternate weekends. You will assist chefs, plate meals, and maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and dining areas while complying with hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• A passion for food with previous experience in a kitchen.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.

Job Description: Kitchen Assistant

Location: The Lindsay Care Home, 47A Lindsay Road, Poole BH13 6AP

Salary: £13.10 - £14.10 per hour (30 Hour Contract) 3 ten hour shifts per week 8am - 7pm Alternate weekends

You’ll help us make health happen by:

• Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
• Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
• Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines
• Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

• A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home.
• You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience.
• Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you’re comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
