Job summary

Bupa in Trowbridge Oaks Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team in a part-time role (17 hours per week). You will support residents with meals and help maintain a warm, welcoming dining environment.

You will assist chefs in plating meals, preparing food trolleys, while keeping preparation areas clean and tidy and following hygiene and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Passion for food with previous kitchen experience and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Deliver excellent service at each meal and make residents feel at home.
• Maintain high standards around the home, ensuring residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience.
• Work with wider kitchen and care home teams, communicating effectively with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents.
• Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure preparation areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines.
• Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

Salary: £13.10 - £14.10 per hour depending on experience Permanent part time contract - 17 hours
