Job summary

Bupa's Harts House Care Home in Woodford Green is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team in delivering high-quality meals for residents. You will help chefs, plate meals, manage trolleys and keep preparation areas clean, building a warm, home-from-home dining experience.

The role is permanent, 40 hours per week, with shifts typical 8am–6pm, 10am–6pm or 7am–3pm. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and a passion for food are important to help us uphold high standards of hygiene and

Salary: £12.25 - £13.25 per hour depending on experience

Perm contract - 40 hours per week Monday - Sunday - shifts could be: 8am to 6pm / 10am to 6pm / 7am to 3pm

We are looking for an equally passionate Kitchen Assistant to join the team and help deliver an excellent dining experience for our residents.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

  • Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
  • Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines
  • Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties
Key Skills / Qualifications
  • A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you’re comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
