Job summary

Advinia Health Care is seeking a General Assistant to join the Braemount Care Home kitchen team. You will work 32 hours a week, support chefs, help prepare meals, and maintain a clean, safe environment in a healthcare setting.

This role offers an hourly rate of £12.71, with 5.6 weeks annual leave, free parking, wellbeing support, career development, and a pension. DBS/PVG disclosure is required.

Qualifications

• Relevant catering qualifications are desirable.
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
• Experience in a similar catering role.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist catering staff with preparation and cooking of meals according to policies and procedures.
• Serve Residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Help the catering team meet hygiene standards and comply with policies.
• Liaise with the wider team, including dietitians, regarding dietary and planned meals.

 As a General Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Serving Residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.

• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.

• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.

• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals 

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)

• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP

• Experience of working within similar role.

•  Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
