Job summary

Advinia Health Care is recruiting a General Assistant for Oxford Manor Care Home to support the kitchen team with meal preparation, serving residents, and maintaining a clean, hygienic environment. You will work 27 hours a week under the Head Chef, joining a dedicated and supportive catering team.

There’s a strong focus on training and career development, with a range of courses available. The role offers an hourly rate of £12.71, free parking, wellbeing support, and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable).
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
• Experience in a similar catering role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and cooking of meals following policies.
• Serve residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Ensure kitchen meets hygiene standards and policies.
• Liaise with dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals.

 As a General Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Serving Residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.
• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals 

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP
• Experience of working within similar role.
•  Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
