Job summary

Bluebell View in Oswestry is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support high-quality meal preparation in a clean, safe kitchen. You will work around a friendly team, assisting with prep, service, and stock control.

The role offers a consistent routine within a well-organised kitchen and opportunities to develop skills while providing a valued service to residents and staff.

Qualifications

  • A positive and reliable approach.
  • Good organisation and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe kitchen environment.
  • Assist with food preparation and deliveries, storage and stock organisation.
  • Maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries and stock storage.
  • Work closely with the Chef and wider team to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely.
  • Support routines and contribute to a well organised kitchen environment.
  • Build experience and develop skills within a supportive team.

About Bluebell View Bluebell View is an 80 bed care home in Oswestry, Shropshire, providing residential, nursing and residential dementia care.

Our dedicated team works together to deliver high quality, person centred care, supporting residents to live with dignity, independence and comfort in a welcoming environment.

Kitchen Assistant £14.80 - £15.30 per hour Contracted to 44 hours per week Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract) Role Overview As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment.

This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation.

Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
