Job summary

Care Concern Group’s Haling Park Care Home in Croydon is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to help prepare meals in a clean, safe kitchen and support daily kitchen operations. You will assist with food preparation, maintain hygiene, and support with deliveries and storage, working closely with the Chef.

The role offers a consistent routine and a chance to develop kitchen experience within a supportive team. DBS paid, pension, uniform provided, and generous leave are included for full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills in a kitchen environment.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Job description

Located in Croydon, London, our care home has been purposely built to support older people in making the most of every day. We provide Nursing, Residential, Dementia, Respite & Pallative Care for 62-residents.

Kitchen Assistant

• £12.71 per hour
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.

You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.

This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
