Job summary

Silver Lodge Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support a specialist complex care kitchen. The role is part-time, dayshift, 20 hours per week, with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour. DBS payment, pension, and uniform are provided, along with 5.6 weeks annual leave pro-rated to part-time hours.

As part of a care team, you will assist with meals, ensure dietary needs are met, and help maintain kitchen safety and organisation in a supportive environment.

Silver Lodge Care Home is a purpose built 40 bed care home, providing specialist nursing dementia and complex nursing dementia care across two dedicated 20 bed units. The home offers a safe, structured, and supportive environment, designed to meet the needs of residents requiring high levels of clinical and dementia care, with a strong focus on dignity, wellbeing, and person centred support.

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 20 hours per week week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs.

You will assist with food preparation, maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure food safety procedures are followed at all times. Working as part of the team, you will help prepare meals that meet individual dietary needs, including modified or specialist diets where required.

You will also support with deliveries, storage and kitchen organisation, ensuring all areas are clean, safe and well maintained. Working in a structured environment, you will contribute to the smooth day to day running of the kitchen while supporting a positive dining experience for residents.

• Previous experience working in a kitchen or food preparation role is desirable but not essential
