Job summary

Silver Lodge Care Home is seeking a Chef to deliver high quality meals within a specialist dementia care setting. You will own food preparation and service, tailoring meals to dietary needs and ensuring nutrition and presentation meet clinical requirements.

In this role you will support menu planning, kitchen organisation and daily service with a focus on hygiene and safe food handling. DBS check is paid, with pension and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Understanding of dietary requirements, including modified or specialist diets.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive and reliable approach.

Catering and Hospitality - Silver Lodge Care Home

Contract: Full Time

Silver Lodge Care Home is a purpose built 40 bed care home, providing specialist nursing dementia and complex nursing dementia care across two dedicated 20 bed units. The home offers a safe, structured, and supportive environment, designed to meet the needs of residents requiring high levels of clinical and dementia care, with a strong focus on dignity, wellbeing, and person centred support.

Chef Contract

• £13.52 per hour
• Contracted to 30 hours per week (3 Days)
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs. Your role plays an important part in daily life, providing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements, including modified diets where required. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that meet both nutritional and clinical needs.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service, ensuring a safe, efficient and well organised kitchen environment at all times.
