Job summary

Meadowvale Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal delivery in a clean, well‑organised kitchen. You will assist with preparation, maintain hygiene, and help with deliveries and stock management while working closely with the Chef.

The role suits a reliable, detail‑oriented individual with good communication who can work independently and as part of a team. PVG, pension and uniform are provided.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with delivering high quality meals in a clean kitchen.
  • Support food preparation and meal assembly as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Assist with deliveries, stock organisation and rotation.
  • Work closely with Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Job description

Kitchen Assistant £12.71 per hour. Contracted to 30 hours per week. Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided. 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract).

Role Overview

As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands‑on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard. You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times. This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
