Job summary

Bupa in Esher is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our care home kitchen team at Wingham Court. You will assist chefs, plate meals, and help keep prep areas clean, while delivering a warm dining experience for residents.

You should have kitchen experience and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, with a passion for good food and high standards. This bank role offers flexible shifts and benefits as part of our caring team.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents to ensure meals reach residents.
• Assist the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and keep prep areas clean and tidy.
• Monitor stock rotation and follow COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

You'll help us make health happen by:

• Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
• Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
• Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines
• Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You'll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you're comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
