Job summary

Bupa is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant for Harts House Care Home in Woodford Green. You will support the kitchen team, help plate meals, prepare trolleys, and ensure dining areas remain clean and well-organised for our residents.

With a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and a passion for food, you will work closely with the chefs and care home staff to maintain high standards and deliver a warm, home-like dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

  • A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences for residents.
  • Ability to communicate well with residents and care home teams.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents.
  • Assist chefs with plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and keeping prep areas clean and tidy.
  • Monitor stock rotation and follow COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
  • Assist with catering for events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

Job Description: Kitchen Assistant Harts House Care Home, Harts Grove, Woodford, Woodford Green IG8 0BF CQC rating: Good Carehome.co.uk rating: 9.1 / 10 Salary: £12.25 - £13.25 per hour depending on experience Perm contract - 40 hours per week Monday - Sunday - shifts could be: 8am to 6pm / 10am to 6pm / 7am to 3pm

We are looking for an equally passionate Kitchen Assistant to join the team and help deliver an excellent dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as the link between the main kitchen and our residents
  • Assisting the chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys and ensure all preparation areas are kept clean and tidy
  • Monitoring stock rotation, complying to company policies and procedures following all mandatory COSHH and HACPP guidelines
  • Assisting with catering for special events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. You want to deliver an excellent service at each meal and make our residents feel at home. You’ll understand the importance of maintaining high standards in and around the home, ensuring our residents enjoy a pleasant dining experience. Working with the wider kitchen and care home teams - you’re comfortable communicating with others, cherishing the little moments with our residents.
