Join The Priory Care Home, where you will work part-time, 16 hours a week, with an established and dedicated kitchen team.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will support the chefs in meal preparation, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist with deliveries. There’s a great social aspect to this role, allowing you to interact with people outside the kitchen regularly.

As a General Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting catering staff with meal preparation and cooking in line with company policies and procedures.
• Serving residents, staff, and visitors with food and beverages.
• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensuring all areas, equipment, and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Working as part of the catering team to ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet hygiene standards and comply with policies.
• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians, regarding dietary and planned meals.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)
• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP
• Experience in a similar role
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills

Location: Goldielea Care Home, Dumfries

You will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote excellent food service.
