About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals enjoyed by our residents. You’ll uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Your responsibilities include maintaining food supplies, managing fridge/freezer temperatures, instructing new starters on equipment use, and cleaning. Resident well-being will always be your top priority.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, ideally with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or a willingness to obtain one. Strong organizational skills, good record keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake related courses. You should be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.
